Aminu Mohammed, who was recently arrested by security operatives for allegedly criticising the Wife of the President Aisha Buhari, has been arraigned by the police.
Recall that Aminu, a student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, was picked up by security operatives for commenting on Aisha’s weight.
It was gathered that Aminu’s arraignment occurred on Tuesday before the FCT High Court No. 14.
According to his uncle, Shehu Baba-Azare, the police did not notify the family about the arraignment.
“It’s clearly a secret arraignment because they did not inform us. We are very concerned about his situation. He will sit for his final exam on December 5,” Baba-Azare said.
Aisha Buhari Invites All APC And PDP Presidential Aspirants For Private Dinner, No Phones Allowed
First Lady, Aisha Buhari has invited all presidential aspirants from various political parties to a meeting on Saturday at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
The meeting, it was gathered, was for Iftar. Iftar is the meal eaten after sunset to breakfast during Ramadan.
The invitees were instructed not to come along with their mobile devices, except for their invitation cards which would serve as their entry pass.
Those that have indicated interest to contest the 2023 presidential elections include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; All Progressives Congress, APC, national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and former presidents of Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim and Bukola Saraki.
Others are the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi; that of Sokoto and Bauchi States, Aminu Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, respectively.
Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha; Minister of Labour and Employment, and Senator Chris Ngige, among others, have also indicated interest to contest the 2023 presidential elections.
However, the directive of not coming to the venue with phones will not apply to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other governors and ministers, who are expected to be at the meeting, it was reliably learned.
Confirming the invitation, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Wife of the President, Aliyu Abdullahi, said: “There is nothing here.
“This is a standard operational protocol in the Villa when you are having either of the three occupants of the Presidency.
“If they are coming for an event, this is supposed to be DSS enforced.
“Whether the President is having an event or the Vice President is having an event or the first lady is having an event; because outsiders will come.
“That’s the security and standard protocol.
“That does not apply to the Vice President. How can you expect that to apply to the Vice President or even to ministers?”
Aisha Buhari Endorses Public Execution Of Little Hanifa’s Killer, Abdulmalik Tanko
First Lady Aisha Buhari has endorsed the call for the execution of Abdulmalik Tanko, proprietor of Noble Kids Academy in Kawaji, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano state.
Tanko, proprietor of the school, has confessed to killing the innocent child with rat poison.
He had dismembered and buried her secretly at one of the branches of the school.
The victim was kidnapped in December and killed shortly after, though her abductors had demanded a N6 million ransom.
It was while trying to get part of the ransom that the proprietor of the school was nabbed by security forces.
There has been widespread outrage over the killing, with #JusticeForHanifa trending on social media for days.
In a video, which has now gone viral, Malam Abdallah Gadon Kaya, a Kano-based cleric, asked that Tanko be killed the same way he killed Hanifa.
He said the proprietor should be executed publicly, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje can get this done.
“His (Tanko’s) life is not more than this girl’s life, the way he took her life, his life should be taken also and let it be done publicly so that another person wouldn’t repeat such.”
The First Lady had reposted the video on her Instagram page, expressing support for the cleric’s call.
She wrote: “We are behind Mallam’s stance.”
Meanwhile, angry youths have burnt the school where the body of Hanifa Abubakar was buried in Kano State.
The youths stormed the school premises very early on Monday morning and set it ablaze, purportedly in protest against the killing of the five-year-old.
The school, Noble Kids Comprehensive College, is situated in Kwanar Dakata community in Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state.
