AFP Photographer Shot At Anti-Charlie Hebdo Protest In Paskitan

A photographer attached to AFP, Asif Hassan was on Friday, January 16, 2015 shot while covering a protest organised against French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo.

The protest was put together by activists of the religious party and was held outside the French Consulate in Karachi.

Hassan has since been taken to the Jinnah Hospital, Karachi and seems to be out of immediate danger after a surgical procedure was done on him.

Spokeswoman for the hospital, Seemi Jamali said: “The bullet struck his lung, and passed through his chest. He is out of immediate danger and he has spoken to his colleagues.”
