There is a fire outbreak in the Conoil filling station located in Area 10, Abuja.
According to Daily Post, who visited the scene, the incident started around 3:53 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
An eyewitness, Ette Samson, a graphic designer at the UTC Area 10 market, advised residents to stay away from that axis.
He says, “The fire started from the storage of the filling station, the whole facility has been burnt down. In fact we are stranded at the moment as the area has been sealed off”.
Officials of the Federal Fire Service were seen trying to put out the fire.
The station shares the same fence with Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, and is a stone’s throw away from Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts and Culture.
Following the incident, there is heavy traffic in Area 10 and its environs.
As of the time of filling this report, the filling station was still on fire.

The police in Lagos State have begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drugging and setting ablaze of an 85 -year-old man and his 80-year-old wife, by their 52-year-old daughter.
The old man was pronounced dead at the hospital where they were rushed to, while the wife has remained unconscious.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the image maker in charge of the state police command, confirmed the incident to Tribune Online.
The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at City Gate Estate in the Lusada area of Okokomaiko, along the Lagos – Badagry Expressway.
It was gathered that 52-year-old Aleremolen Izokpu sedated her parents 85-year-old Pa Michael Izokou and his wife, 80-year-old Priscilla.
The suspect who fled from the scene of the incident was said to have set her two sleeping parents ablaze.
One of the siblings of the suspect, Akugbe Izokou reported the matter to the police after being informed on the telephone by one of his younger sisters.
Hundeyin a Superintendent of Police told Tribune Online that “Information received from the DPO Okokomaiko division has it that on 01/12/22 at about 09:00 hours someone reported at the station that on 30/11/22 at about 15:00 hours that he received a phone call from his younger sister, one Osemudiame Izokpu that their elder sister named Aleromolen, aged 52 allegedly drugged their parents, one Micheal Izokou, 85 years and Priscilla Izokpu, 80 years and set them ablaze while they were asleep.”
“The scene was visited by detectives. The hospital was also visited where the injured victim and the corpse were inspected, photographs taken and the corpse deposited at the Badagry Hospital morgue.
Hundeyin also stated that efforts have been intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.
Ebonyi: 340 Ballot Boxes, Unknown Number of PVCs Destroyed In INEC Office Fire
Hoodlums have set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, destroying, among others, 340 ballot boxes and a yet-to-be-determined quantity of Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs.
The attack is the third on INEC’s local government offices in less than three weeks, following similar attacks in Ogun and Osun states on November 10, 2022.
Festus Okoye, the INEC national commissioner in charge of the Information and Voter Education Committee, disclosed this in a statement, on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
He said the Ebonyi Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mrs. Onyeka Ugochi, reported that the commission’s Izzi Local Government Area office, located in Iboko, was set ablaze, on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
“The incident occurred around 10.00am when some unidentified persons set the entire building ablaze,” said Okoye.
He said although no casualties resulted from the attack, “the main building and all the movable and immovable items inside it were destroyed. These include 340 ballot boxes, 130 voting cubicles, 14 electric power generators, large water storage tanks, assorted office furniture and fixtures, and yet-to-be-determined quantities of Permanent Voters’ Cards.
“The attention of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies has been drawn to the incident and have commenced investigation,” said Okoye.
