Okezie Ikpeazu, the executive governor of Abia State,has sacked the general manager of Abia State Environmental Sanitation Agency, ASEPA, M Okechukwu Apugo, over poor sanitation situation in Umuahia.
In a statement made available to NAN on Saturday, September 28, 2019, by the state commissioner for information, John Okiyi Kalu, the Governor gave the directive while on project tour in the state after passing through Ochendo by pass road and saw heaps of refuse along the road.
Ikpeazu directed the secretary to state government, Chris Ezem, to take over sanitation in Umuahia with Aham Uko assisting him.
Meanwhile, Governor Ikpeazu continued his project commissioning inspection visits with the headquarters of ASOPADEC and Umuahia relief market commissioned by the governor.
