A 70-year-old pastor of an undisclosed church, Olufade Folayinmi, has reportedly killed himself on Owakurudu Road, in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State.
Some church members of the deceased called the police after they found him hanging with a rope around his neck, dangling from a ceiling fan in his apartment around 2pm on Monday, August 17, 2015.
Narrating the incident, a female source said, “It was a shocking discovery. The pastor was found hanging to the ceiling fan. Nobody knew why he took that action.
“The family and church members still rushed him to a nearby hospital, but the doctors confirmed him dead.”
Confirming the incident, the state police spokesperson, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, sad the corpse has been released to the family after an autopsy examination was performed on it.
He said, “The pastor was found hanging to the ceiling. The corpse has been released to the family after a post mortem. The case was handled by the policemen from Igbeba.”
