7 Men Arraigned For Stealing Cartons Of Milk Valued At N10 Million In Lagos

Seven men have been arraigned before Magistrate Y.O. Aje Afunwa of an Ikeja Magistrate Court, Lagos State for allegedly conspiring to steal several cartoons of milk valued at N10 million.

The suspects were arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on burgling, stealing and conspiracy even though they all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

They allegedly committed the offence in the Igando suburb of the state on Thursday, May 7, 2015.

Among the defendants were:  Hassan Mohammadu, 41; Hassean Wito, 36; Abdulahi Mohammed, 27; Saliya Ali, 26; Musa Mohammed, 27; Kadiri Ibrahim, 36; and Mustapha Mohammed, 27.

A report by Vanguard stated that they have been admitted to bail in the sum of N1million, each with two sureties who are gainfully employed with verifiable addresses.

The matter was adjourned till Monday, July 29, 2015 for further mention.

In a related development, a 38-year-old man identified as, Innocent Okemba, has been arraigned before Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for alleged robbery and possession of firearms.

He was charged for arming himself with one locally made cut to size double barrel gun and other dangerous weapons.

Additionally, Okemba was said to have robbed 10 rolls of aluminium roofing coils loaded in Mack truck with number plates QX 240 LSD, valued at N18 million.

However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him in court while the case was adjourned until Thursday, July 9, 2015 for further mention.
