A six-week-old baby from Connecticut has become the youngest COVID-19 casualty in the world.
Ned Lamont, the governor of Connecticut tweeted his “heartbreaking sadness” in confirming the first pediatric death in the state.
Investigations are yet to reveal if the baby had an underlying health problem.

“A 6-week-old newborn from the Hartford area was brought unresponsive to a hospital late last week and could not be revived,” Lamond tweeted on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
“Testing confirmed last night that the newborn was COVID-19 positive. This is absolutely heartbreaking. We believe this is one of the youngest lives lost anywhere due to complications relating to COVID-19.
The latest victims have increased the mortalities from the disease to 5,137, a figure almost double the previous day’s total. A total of 216,722 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.
