A 57-year-old man simply identified as Mr Valentine must have broken Chioma Ajunwa’s Olympic record when his first wife of 17-years stormed the venue of his wedding ceremony in Oredo local government area of Edo state.
He reportedly abandoned his wife-to-be and disappeared from the scene of the wedding which he intended to secretly formalize in the presence of just few of his trusted friends.
The groom had in the past approached a court registry in a different location in Delta State where he was said to have secretly contracted another marriage.
The exchange of marital vows was eventually interrupted after his first wife got the information from an unknown source and finally stormed the venue in the company of other women.
To people’s astonishment, the embattled wife and mother of four explained to a confused crowd that the reasons behind her actions was because her husband abandoned his responsibilities as the head of the family since he got entangled with the new woman who she believed had used charms on him.
She said, “I had to do this because I am convinced my husband must have been bewitched by the lady because since the rumour began making round of his involvement with her, he has stopped taking care of his four children. Each time he is confronted to provide money for our upkeep he often complained of not having money.”
