Curtis Jackson, popularly known by his stage name, 50 Cent will be due to appear before the court in June, 2015 to be tried for allegedly uploading a video of Rick Ross’ ex-girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston having sex with her ex boyfriend, Maurice Murray.
Court documents reveal that 39-year-old rapper 50 Cent received the video from Murray in 2009 and cropped himself into it to cover Murray’s face leaving Leviston’s own to the full glare of the audience.
Leviston from Florida who has a child with Ross said the video made her feel suicidal and subsequently the rapper in 2010 for emotional distress the video caused her.
Lawyers for both sides on Thursday, March 12, 2015 asked Justice Paul Wooten of Manhattan Supreme Court to bar jurors from hearing some evidence they’ve uncovered in the discovery process leading up to the trial, including emails and other items exchanged by the parties, New York Daily News reports.
50 Cent and Ross have been having prolonged loggerheads to the point that he (50 Cent) once referred to Ross as “fat boy” while Ross on his part has called out on his rival in his raps in “Mafia Music”, referring to him as “stupid” and “jealous”.
