For example, students were to practice the use of commas by choosing between writing a letter to their celebrity crush or a city hall employee complaining about trivial issues. You can also utilize commas worksheet and exercise for easy understanding.

Mad libs are also a great way of making grammar learning more interesting. The simple books have a way of lightening the moods of the students as they are able to observe funny and interesting things as they learn.

It also helps them to learn and understand various parts of speech in an interesting manner. After you have used mad libs for some time, your students will start to understand the difference between adjectives and adverbs.

3. Make funny examples

Learning is always more interesting if it is practical and funny. As such, try to move away from the formalities of using the syllabus and write your own practice sentences for grammar. A good example of doing this is dramatizing the lesson by calling students by their names.

Doing this will not only make them attentive but also make them feel they are part and parcel of the lesson. Each one of them will want to participate and learn.

4. Whole-class games

A whole-class game is also a great way to make students enjoy your grammar lesson. It has the effect of getting every student engaged in the lesson.

For instance, you can select a part of the speech and make your class play Hot potato. Have learners stand in a circle and pass a small ball from one person to the next and they pronounce a specific word that fits in the category.

5. Mentor text

There are a lot of mentor texts that can be used to teach grammar. Learners can make silent signals as they hear the various parts of speech being featured.

Bottom line
