Five people died when a transport aircraft crashed on Friday, October 4, 2019, whereas coming in to land in western Ukraine, emergency providers mentioned.
The Antonov-12 with eight people on board crash-landed 1.5 kilometres (simply over a mile) from the runway at Lviv airport.
The surviving three passengers have been hospitalised in a severe situation after being trapped in the wreckage, the emergency service mentioned.
It added the plane was operated by Kiev-based firm Ukraine Air Alliance and flying in from Vigo in Spain.
Yuriy Lavrenyuk, the deputy infrastructure minister informed Ukraine’s 112 TV channel that it was thought the aircraft had run out of gas or a pilot had made a mistake.
The emergency providers posted an image of the aircraft with one wing ripped off.
