[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s it turns out, sleeping isn’t as easy as we thought. For some people, falling asleep is one of the hardest things, while for others the ritual they have before going to sleep can determine how productive their day will be, and even how successful their life will be.
For that reason, some of the most famous people in the world have some of the weirdest sleeping habits. From people in the entertainment industry to writers, politicians, and even business people, all of them have their own sleeping patterns and habits.
The infographic below details some of the strangest sleeping habits of celebrities in every niche, and describes why they chose to stick to them.
Let’s take a look at the five bizarre sleeping habits of business people.
Elon Musk
The co-founder and CEO of Tesla has a very strict sleeping pattern. He only sleeps six hours a night, going to bed at 1 am. The strange thing about this business mogul is that it’s reported that he keeps a sleeping bag in the conference room next to the production line to better inspect the vehicles.
No wonder Tesla’s stocks never seem to drop!
Donald Trump
Now the President of the United States, Trump was first known as a businessman and a TV personality. It’s said that he was a workaholic who worked 19 hours a day while sleeping only for three to four hours a night.
Although this was the case before he came to office, perhaps running the country has shortened his sleep time even more. Who knows!
Marissa Mayer
This IT executive is a workaholic, just like Donald Trump. She too tends to sleep only four to six hours a day, dedicating the rest of the time to work. However, she often takes week-long vacations, every four months to be exact, where she catches on her sleeping.
Arianna Huffington
The Greek-American writer and businesswoman, Arianna Huffington, also has a pretty specific bedtime ritual which helps her go to sleep. The first thing she does, which we should definitely follow, is turning off all of the electronic gadgets before taking a long hot bath.
She’d usually put Epsom salt and lavender oil, which would help her relax and go to sleep. After the bath, she’d either read poetry or philosophy and go to sleep.
Tim Cook
The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook revealed in an interview that he wakes up at 4am every day. At 58 years, he is reputed to be the first one to arrive at work and the last person to leave the office. “I rise a bit before four, I like to take the first hour and go through user comments and things like that, and sort of focus on the external people that are so important to us,” Cook is quoted in the interview with Axios.
It’s obvious that these people chose to focus on their jobs rather than on the quality of sleep . Whether or not this is the right way to go about it is debatable, although scientists would agree that getting a minimum of eight hours a night of sleep is vital for a healthy body.
The infographic below has all of this summarized, showing us what are the celebrities’ weirdest sleeping habits and why they’ve subjected themselves to those habits. Check it out.
