A 4-year-old girl was on Thursday, June 18, 2020 swept away by flood in Lagos, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has said.
Lagos state residents woke up Thursday morning to heavy rainfall which flooded many parts of the state causing girdlock on major roads.
The rescue team of LASEMA began their search for the 4-year-old at 38 Fashola street, Papa Asafa, Orile, Agege after she was swept away at about 10am.
Director-General of LASEMA, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident, saying that the agency received a distress call from a witness.
Öke-Osanyintolu said, “Response team from the agency has been dispatched immediately with search and rescue operation ongoing.
