On Monday, April 14, 2014 over 200 female students of Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok, Borno State were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents.
Efforts by the government and other concerned groups and individuals to rescue the girls have all proved abortive.
About 219 young girls from various secondary schools in Abuja were selected on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 as ambassadors to represent each of the missing girls as they marched to the Federal Ministry of Education.
The Irish and Danish ambassadors of the BBOG also joined the march led by Oby Ezekwesili, a former Minister of Education.
It was learnt that the gate was locked against the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, campaign ambassadors although it was later opened on their insistence.
