A 35-year-old man has been arraigned by the operatives of the police in Bauchi State, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 for infecting a 12-year-old girl with Human Immuno Virus, HIV.
The police public relations officer , Haruna Mohammed made this known on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Bauchi.
The rebel was said to have been living with the virus since 2004 and has been using anti-retroviral drugs to manage it and was alleged to be sleeping with the girl who hawks groundnuts since 2012.
However, it was learnt that the girl started having some changes in her body system which prompted her to be taken to the hospital only to be diagnosed with the dreaded virus, HIV.
Meanwhile, the deputy superintendent of Police, Mohammed said: “On October 14, one Sabo Korau, a 35-year-old male of Unguwan Dawaki, Dass council of Bauchi State was arrested for having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl, repeatedly, since 2012.
“When the victim began to show strange symptoms, she was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed HIV positive.”
According to Vanguard, Mohammed disclosed that after serious investigations, it was discovered that the man had been sleeping with the young girl for a while adding that he will be charged to court for justice to prevail.
