Hollywood a-lister, Kerry Washington is The Trent’s Style Woman of 2013. We love her… and for many reasons.
She has a soft but powerful red carpet style that always leaves us wanting more. When we spot her on the red carpet, we can’t wait for her next outing. She is adventurous and bold when it comes to style. But somehow, Washington stays simple. She is never overdone. She is always on point!
Kerry Washington has an impressive professional profile as well. Forbes named her as one of the highest paid actors in television in 2013.She was named 2013’s TV Star of the Year by editors at TV Guide Magazine.
Washington is known for her film roles as Ray Charles’s wife, Della Bea Robinson, in the film Ray (2004), as Idi Amin’s wife Kay in The Last King of Scotland (2006), as Alicia Masters, love interest of Ben Grimm/The Thing in the live-action Fantastic Four films of 2005 and 2007, and as Broomhilda von Schaft, Django’s wife, in Quentin Tarantino’s film Django Unchained (2012).
She is the star of runway TV hit series created by the very talented Shonda Rhimes, ‘Scandal’ in which she plays Olivia Pope, a Washington DC crisis management expert who is in a love affair with the president of the United States, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award nominations in 2013.
Washington graduated from the George Washington University in 1998 with a double major in anthropology and sociology. She got married last year to Nigerian NFL player, Nnamdi Asomugha and is reportedly expecting their first child.
We just love her! These are 30 red carpet moments (not all from 2012) which convinced us that Kerry Washington should be crowned our Style Woman of 2013.
