Three journalists attached to TV station, Al-Jazeera were on Wednesday, February 25, arrested in the French capital, Paris after they were said to have flown a drone from Bois de Boulogne, a park on the Westerm edge of the city.
The arrests come several drones were seen flying in the city within the past two days, and comes at a time when France is on red alert following the Charlie Hebdo murders.
A government source who spoke to AFP said: “The first was piloting the drone, the second was filming and the third was watching.”
Flying drones is banned by law in Paris.
The drone was spotted near the US embassy, close to the Invalides military museum, the Eiffel Tower and several major thoroughfares leading in and out of Paris, the source said.
