28 prisoners have escaped jail in the early hours of Thursday, February 5, 2015 after three half naked women in police costumes seduced the prison guards who were meant to watch after them.
The prison wardens were said to be discovered the following morning sleeping naked and hand cuffed in the sleeping quarters of Nova Mutum public jail located in the central-west region of Brazil.
Police officers waded into investigation and realised that the three women must have lured the prison wardens into drinking a whiskey laced with some substance to make them dose off before opening the prison gates to free the inmates according to Mail Online.
One of the investigators, a local police chief, Angelina de Andrades Ferreira said, ‘The plan was to seduce them. They served them cheap whisky with some substance to knock them out, then unlocked the central gate which accesses the internal cells.
‘Whoever wanted to escape left by the front door. From the moment they drank the whisky the agents don’t remember a thing.
‘One was found dizzy, trying to wake up. Another slept for the whole afternoon and couldn’t even be questioned.’
She further disclosed that the idea was initiated by one of boyfriends to the seductresses, Bruno Amorim, 18, who was serving a jail term for attempted murder, robbery and firearms possession.
During their escape around 3am of the aforementioned day, some of the prisoners reportedly carted away with guns and ammunition including three 12-calibre rifles, shotguns, two 38-calibre revolvers from the jail’s armory before escaping through the front door.
Meanwhile, about eight of the fleeing inmates who were not so lucky were re-captured by the police who launched a manhunt.
One of them was caught apparently drunk was seen hovering around the prison with one of the stolen ammunition whereas the other was captured after he crashed a pick-up truck which he stole from a farm.
Police further stated that the prison guards will be charged with ‘facilitating a jailbreak’ and “culpable embezzlement”after they allowed themselves to get drunk leading to the massive jailbreak and weapons looting.
