OWERRI – Twenty six students have been expelled and twenty six others suspended for different offences in the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri in Imo State.
Some of the students affected were involved in examination malpractice, which the institution frowns at.
The institution’s Registrar, Mr. Matthew Aligbe, who spoke to newsmen in Owerri, also said that the punishments handed down to the affected students were in line with the prescriptions for such infractions.
Aligbe said the students had been forewarned on admissions into the institution that the school management had zero tolerance for all manner of vices, including examination malpractice, cultism, arson, sexual abuse, among other despicable acts.
