Must read

Less than 3-weeks since the former Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako was impeached on grounds of corruption and other offences, 21 local government chairmen, along with their councillors and 37 development area administrators have left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors, who were until now loyal to the formaer governor, made their move on Saturday, July 26, 2014 when they paid a courtesy visit to the acting governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri pledging their loyalty and support to the current PDP administration.

Responding to the move by the chairmen and other members of the council, Fintiri commended the defectors for their act and also added that the present administration will carry everyone along so as to bring immense growth to the state.

He said, “This administration will continue to give equal opportunities to Adamawa citizens aimed at moving the state forward”.

Favanza saidWe the 21 local government chairmen, all the councillors and all the development area administrators have observed that within a short time in office, you have given equal opportunities to individuals in Adamawa State.”

He stated that the chairmen would continue to remain loyal and supportive to the PDP.

Meanwhile, the state Chairman of the PDP, Chief Joel Madaki, has advised the council chairmen and their councillors to revalidate their membership cards in their various wards.

He gave the advice while playing host to the local government chairmen, councillors and development area administrators at the party secretariat.
