George Muoghalu, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari did not at any time promise to hand over power to the former governor of Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.
Muoghalu, who is now the chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA.
Muoghalu, while interacting with journalists on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in Imo State, said that, the chances of Igbos getting the Presidential ticket under APC is “now brighter”.
According to him, Buhari is a detribalized leader, who will ensure justice, fairness and equity at the end of his second term.
He admitted that, South East must increase it’s stake in the South-East, by winning more States in the region.
Imo State is the only State currently being governed by the APC, but the matter may still be reviewed by the Supreme Court, as the sacked governor, Emeka Ihedioha said he was unduly removed.
