Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that when he was busy bringing down the structures of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2023 general elections, his critics were busy talking about him.
Governor Wike who spoke during the commissioning of the Ogbunabali Sand-filled Area in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, August 29, 2022, declared that he was on a mission to bring down all structures of the APC in the state.
The governor who boasted that nobody could threaten him as he would do what was right no matter the “gang up” or blackmail said that while he and his team are delivering the dividend of democracy to the people of Rivers, other PDP governors are busy talking about him.
He, however, frowned at how people were using his name in their states, noting that he should not be distracted as he had been busy demolishing APC structures in the South-South state.
“Instead of you people concentrating on how PDP wins the election, you go and pay money to television houses talking about Wike every day.
“Meanwhile, Wike and his team are busy here bringing down all structures of APC, providing dividends of democracy. In your own state, you are only talking about Wike,” he said.
Wike also took a dig at an unnamed “rapist” and member of PDP who was present at an event in Kano State on Monday to receive the Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, from the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
He accused this “rapist” of not putting effort into cajoling others to join the PDP but is quite comfortable with liking “when food is ready.”
