Frontline presidential candidate, Olusegun Mimiko will be spending a day with thousands of Nigerians as he holds a town hall meeting in Ibadan on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
The event, which holds at Jogor Events Centre, Ibadan at 10am is organised by Friends of Mimiko, a political pressure group.
Yele Fasedemi, the co-ordinator of the group, in an e-mail to The Trent on Monday said that participants for the town hall meeting will be coming in from across the entire country.
“Friends of Mimiko is a group of like-minded but diverse individuals who subscribe to good governance philosophy as exemplified by Mimiko,” Mr. Fasedemi wrote in the email.
Dr. Mimiko, the immediate past governor of Ondo State, is the presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party. He is regarded in Nigeria and internationally as one of the transformational political leaders in Nigeria.
A globally recognised champion of universal health care, Mimiko’s programmes in Ondo State were groundbreaking in the key areas of human capital development, healthcare, education, urban renewal, and social security.
Dr. Mimiko in his presidential declaration speech in September 2018 promised to run a social democratic government with emphasis on restructuring Nigeria, bringing peace to the troubled Middle Belt area and North East of the country, human capital development, youth and women empowerment if elected into the office of president next year.
