A former Head of State and a Presidential aspirant under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, had on Monday, November 3, 2014 called on all the supporters of the opposition party to ensure they obtain their permanent voters card in order to vote the ruling People’s Democratic Party out of power in the 2015 general elections scheduled for February 14.
He made this call during the official governorship declaration of the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, in Kaduna.
According to Channels report, thousands of APC members and supporters trooped out to this trade fair complex as early as 9:00am to witness the declaration of intention by the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The arrival of General Buhari at the ceremony elicited this crowd of supporters who saw it as a major boost to El-rufai’s governorship ambition.
During the endorsement of El-rufai for governor of Kaduna State under the auspices of APC, Buhari declared that only an APC government was capable of salvaging Nigeria following the many problems that are inherent in the the country.
Buhari further described El-rufai as the best person to take Kaduna State from its present condition to a better state.
Also, he presented himself as the best candidate to allay the insecurity and unemployment problems in the country while pleading with APC members to elect him as their candidate for the 2015 election.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state governorship aspirant while speaking to the surging crowd at the event promised to provide true public service with fairness, equity and justice in order to transform the state.
He also assured them that his administration if elected would make the security of lives and property a priority by identifying the causes of intolerance and communal violence and would rebuild and expand water supply, rural electrification and roads infrastructure across the state.
El rufai also disclosed that his decision to contest for the governorship seat in 2015 general elections was informed after due consultations with different people amongst whom were traditional rulers and opinion leaders.
