A 20-year-old man, Antoine Devon Pettis faces a 60-year jail term for allegedly breaking into an apartment of a 101-year-old woman and made away with some of her valuables after raping her in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was charged with burglary, aggravated battery and second degree sexual assault.
A criminal complaint filed with police states, “The victim was asleep at her home on the city’s north side, where she lived alone, when she heard a noise and realised someone was in her bedroom.
“She asked who was there and why, but was only told ‘shut up’ and slapped several times in the face.
“The attacker then grabbed the victim’s wrists, flipped her on her stomach, sexually assaulted her and left.”
According to reports on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, after the assault, the old woman was found by police with blood on her face and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The suspect who claims the attack was unintentional said he chose to sexually attack the 101-year-old woman when he discovered she was fast asleep.
“He did not plan the sexual assault or he would have worn a condom,” he allegedly told the police.
