KADUNA, Nigeria – A 20-year-old man, David Felix, has been arrested for the alleged murder of his father at Madakiya village in the Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This alarming incident, allegedly because the young man saw his father in his dream, occurred on September 30, 2023.
Felix, during police interrogation, claimed that his father appeared in his dreams as a bird with a human face, intending to harm him.
“He appeared in my dream attempting to harm me,” Felix reportedly told the police, explaining his perceived need to act.
The young man, upon waking from his dream, allegedly used a pestle to attack his father while he slept. The Kaduna State Police confirmed the incident and Felix’s subsequent apprehension.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the state Police Public Relations Officer, presented the suspect to journalists on Wednesday. Hassan confirmed that Felix admitted to the crime and expressed regret. The Police Public Relations Officer announced that legal charges would be filed after the conclusion of the investigation.
This case has drawn attention in the region, which has recently experienced other violent incidents, including a kidnapping and murder in Gombe and a deadly clash between police and Shi’ites in Kaduna.
The community of Madakiya is now dealing with the aftermath of this tragic event, as law enforcement officials work to conclude their investigation and proceed with legal action.
