Confusion has engulfed the residents of Anambra State as two lovers were discovered dead in a hostel close to a university in the state.
The deceased lady said to be from Imo State, reportedly visited her boyfriend on Saturday, June 6, 2015 and spent the some couple of hours with him.
On the other hand, the man whose identity was not disclosed was believed to be a 300-level student of Public Administration.
According to reports, suspicions began to grow when they lovers refused to wake up the next day.
It was learnt that some concerned neighbour raised an alarm which attracted the police who forcibly pulled the door to their room open only to discover the couple stone dead.
They are believed to have died after having sex and their neighbours had no idea about their deaths until their bodies started decomposing.
It was also alleged that the man drugged the girl in order to have sex with her after she refused his plea to have sex with him.
The drug is believed to have resulted in her death and upon discovering this, the man allegedly took some deadly pills which led to his own death thereafter.
It was gathered that the lifeless remains of the duo were evacuated by police officials attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in the Awkuzu area of the state.
The corpses were subsequently deposited at an undisclosed mortuary in the state.
When contacted, the state police spokesperson, DSP Uche Ezeh, confirmed the incident adding that an ongoing investigation has been launched to uncover the mystery behind the death of the duo.
