KADUNA – Gunmen attacked the village of Chanchu on Sunday December 22nd 2013 leaving two dead and four others injured.
The attack led to the death of an unidentified man and his four-year-old son who died of gun shot wounds, eyewitnesses report.
The injured victims are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital in the village.
The Kaduna state police commissioner, Olufemi Adenaike, confirmed the attacks saying the attack was carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who attacked the village with AK47 rifles.
Adenaike insisted that only one life was lost in the attack, and stated that policemen and soldiers have been drafted to the area to restore and maintain law and order.
