The Ecuadorian queen and medical student at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil died on Saturday January 10, 2015 during a liposuction procedure she got as a prize for winning the Queen of Durán beauty contest in 2014.
According to a statement from her brother Daniel Zavela, the victim had refused to go on with the operation but later changed her mind after much pressure from the surgeon.
“She was thinking about letting someone else have it as a freebie but eventually she agreed to have it just to get him off her back,” Her brother, Daniel Zavela told the media
However, two doctors have been arrested in connection to her death.
