160 new cases of COVID-19 has been recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, September 12, 2020, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has said.
A breakdown of the new cases across different states in the country is as follows; FCT-39, Plateau-39, Lagos-30, Kaduna-23, Katsina-7, Rivers-6, Oyo-6, Yobe-3, Benue-3, Bayelsa-1, Abia-1, Edo-1, and Ekiti-1.
The 160 new cases of COVID-19 now brings the total number of confirmed cases to 55, 177. 1,078 deaths has been recorded while 44,088 patients have recovered from the virus.

Nigeria has recorded a decline in the new cases of COVID-19 in the psst 2 weeks.
The Lagos state commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi disclosed that Lagos state has reached it’s peak of the novel virus and is now beginning to flatten the curve.
Abayomi, who just recovered from the potentially deadly virus encouraged Lagos residents to continue to observe the coronavirus safety protocol as recommended by NCDC.

The minister for health, Dr Osagie Ehanire attributed the low number of new COVID-19 cases to low turnout for testing.
