Former Manchester United skipper, Rio Ferdinand has slammed the current crop of players at Old Trafford after they were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
Speaking on BT Sport, Ferdinand who is now a soccer pundit had this to say about United’s fate:
“It’s embarrassing. I was in a squad that went into the Europa League and it’s an embarrassment.
“You don’t want to come out of your house or walk around Manchester.”
The Red Devils finished Group B in third place after losing 3-2 away at Wolfsburg thereby sealing a place in the Europa League rather than the knock-out phase of the more prestigious UEFA champions league.
