NAN – Dutse Local Government Council of Jigawa on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 said it immunised 110,720 children against polio during the January exercise.
The Head of Health Department in the Council, Malam Babangida Musa, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.
Musa said that the figure represented a good percentage of coverage in the area.
He urged parents to present their children for immunisation so as to protect them against the polio disease.
Musa attributed the success recorded in the exercise to the support received from the local government administration as well as community and religious leaders.
He commended community and religious leaders for their support in mobilising residents to participate in the exercise, urging them to maintain the tempo.
