About 20 people, including a female suicide bomber, said to be about 10-years of age were killed at the chicken section of the popular Yen-Kaji market in Maiduguri, the capital of terror-ravaged Borno State when the suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in the usually crowded market.
The Police Public Relations officer for Borno State, Gideon Jubrin also confirmed that the incident, which happened around 12.30 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 left about 18 people injured.
Red Cross and National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) officials were seen taking the injured individuals to a nearby hospital.
