The Lagos state police command has confirmed that one person was killed during the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere, Lagos on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.
Speaking to NAN, the public relations officer of the command, Kenneth Nwosu disclosed that the victim had died during the course of the clash.
He said, “Yes one person was feared dead during the clash but the police is on the hunt of those involved in the clash.”
“Those involved in violence before, during and after the elections will be arrested and charged according to the law because the police will not tolerate any form of violence,” he added.
He admonished the people of the state to avoid any form of violence especially as the 2015 general election was fast approaching.
Nwosu also reassured the people that the police was fully prepared to protect lives and property in the state during and after the election as long as they operate in accordance with the law.
