Leader of the #BringBackOurGirls Canpaign, Obiageli Ezekwesili was on Monday, July 21, 2014 detained by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The former Vice-President for the World Bank (Africa) and former minister for education was on her way to London to appear on BBC World Service’s flagship programme ‘Hardtalk’ was detained and her passports seized.
Ezekwesili tweeted series of tweets to inform her 154,000 followers:
IS THIS A DEMOCRACY? I am being detained by the SSS @ Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport . The SSS has REFUSED to GIVE MY PASSPORT TO ME.

She has been released and has boarded her flight to the United Kingdom.
