Juventus’ frontman, Carlos Tevez has been offered his first Argentina call-up as he has being named among the squad for their forthcoming friendlies.
Tevez has been in out of the international games since 2011, when he made an appearance in the Copa America quarter-final defeat to Uruguay.
However, the newly appointed head coach, Gerardo Martino, who took over after their World Cup final defeat this summer, had stated that “the doors were open” to Tevez to return to the squad should he prove his worth at club level.
Martino has eventually found the 30-year-old striker worthy to the squad to face Portugal and Croatia, after his eight goals in 10 games for Juventus so far in one season.
On the squad list is also Lionel Messi, along with Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, Manchester United star Angel Di Maria and Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano.
